Delivery — what's included

Most Fairmont deliveries include assembly, installation, and removal of rubbish and packaging. We don't leave flat-packs at the front office — furniture is delivered, put together, placed in the room, and the packaging leaves with us. Delivery arrangements and any delivery costs are confirmed in your written quote before you commit to anything.

Delivery, assembly and installation arrangements may vary depending on your order and location — for example, interstate, remote or regional deliveries, courier or freight-depot deliveries, supplier-direct deliveries, small orders, and boxed deliveries may be handled differently. We'll confirm exactly what's included for your order in your quote.

Lead times

Each product page shows an availability badge. The windows behind those badges are:

Your quote confirms the lead time for your specific order. Lead times are estimates given in good faith — if a confirmed order will be delayed, we will tell you promptly and give you a revised date.

Delivery areas

We deliver across Tasmania and to schools in every Australian state and territory. Delivery to your region, including site access requirements, is confirmed as part of your quote.

On delivery day

  • We agree a delivery date with you in advance and confirm site access requirements.
  • Our team assembles and installs the furniture in the rooms where it will be used.
  • All packaging and rubbish is removed from site.
  • If old furniture is being replaced, ask us whether our Take Back Sustainability program is available for your location and project. The program is available in selected areas and is subject to approval by Fairmont.

Damaged or faulty items

If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fail to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, please contact us at info@schoolfurnitureshop.com.au. We will assess the issue and provide the remedy required by the Australian Consumer Law. Depending on the circumstances and the nature of the failure, this may include repair, replacement, refund or another remedy available under law. You will never be asked to pay to return a faulty item.

Change-of-mind returns

School Furniture Shop does not provide a general change-of-mind return right once goods have been received. We may, at our discretion, agree to accept a return in individual circumstances. Where a discretionary return is approved: prior approval from Fairmont is required before goods are returned; a 20% restocking fee may apply; the customer is responsible for return freight where applicable; and any additional return conditions will be confirmed before the return is authorised. Do not return goods without first obtaining approval from Fairmont.

This discretionary change-of-mind policy is separate from your rights where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise covered by the Australian Consumer Law.
