These terms apply to all quotes and orders placed with School Furniture Shop, operated by Fairmont Commercial Furniture Pty. Ltd. ("Fairmont", "we", "us"). By requesting a quote or placing an order, you agree to these terms.
About us
School Furniture Shop is operated by Fairmont Commercial Furniture Pty. Ltd. (ABN 30 105 243 114), a Tasmanian furniture manufacturer and supplier.
Pricing and quotes
No prices are shown on this website. All pricing is provided by individual quote, prepared after you submit a quote request. We aim to respond within one business day. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued, unless otherwise stated in your quote.
Orders and made-to-order items
Most of our range is made to order. Lead times vary by product — see our Delivery & Returns page for current timeframes (quick ship items, Fairmont-manufactured made-to-order items, and resold made-to-order items each have different windows). Your quote confirms the lead time for your specific order.
Once an order is confirmed, cancellation is handled by direct consultation with us. If no materials have been ordered and no manufacturing has started, we're generally happy to cancel. Once raw materials have been committed or manufacturing has begun, the order can no longer be cancelled. Contact us as early as possible if your circumstances change.
Payment
Approved education account customers may receive 30-day payment terms as confirmed in their quote. Other customers may be required to pay a deposit before work begins — this will be confirmed in your quote.
Delivery
Delivery, assembly and installation arrangements may vary depending on your order and location. Full details, including lead times and delivery areas, are on our Delivery & Returns page.
Returns and faulty goods
Our approach to change-of-mind returns and faulty or damaged items is set out in full on our Delivery & Returns page. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law for faulty goods.
Warranty
Fairmont-manufactured products carry warranty terms as set out on our Warranty page. Resold products are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty, where offered. Full details are available on request for your specific product.
Consumer guarantees
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms is intended to limit, exclude, or modify those guarantees.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Fairmont's liability for any claim arising from your order is limited to the repair, replacement, or resupply of the goods or services in question, or the cost of doing so — except where the Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise.
Website use
This website and its content are provided for the purpose of browsing our range and requesting quotes. You may not use this site to submit false or misleading information, or attempt to interfere with its normal operation.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you place an order will apply to that order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia.
